Echinodorus ‘Small Bear’ is an attractive compact sword plant prized for its colorful foliage and manageable rosette growth. New leaves can develop beautiful shades of red, bronze, copper, and reddish-brown, gradually becoming greener as they mature and creating a naturally varied display. Its smaller growth habit makes it an excellent choice for foreground-to-midground placement and aquariums where larger Echinodorus varieties may be too dominant. Moderate to strong lighting, a nutrient-rich substrate, and balanced fertilization encourage healthy growth and richer coloration. Supplemental CO₂ can promote denser development.
