L243 Peckoltia Pleco – Rare South American Freshwater Catfish
The L243 Pleco (Peckoltia sp.) is an uncommon ornamental freshwater catfish prized by pleco enthusiasts for its distinctive markings, compact armoured body, and fascinating bottom-dwelling behaviour.
Belonging to the diverse Peckoltia group, this attractive pleco displays natural brown to dark coloration with contrasting patterns that help it blend into rocky and sheltered aquatic environments. Individual markings may vary.
L243 Plecos spend much of their time exploring aquarium decorations, driftwood, and rocky structures while searching for food and secure hiding places.
Generally peaceful toward midwater community fish, they may display territorial behaviour toward other bottom-dwelling catfish, especially when competing for caves.
This species is best maintained in a mature freshwater aquarium with excellent filtration, well-oxygenated water, and plenty of natural shelters.
Its uncommon availability, interesting behaviour, and distinctive appearance make the L243 Pleco an appealing addition to specialized freshwater aquariums.
