L397 Alenquer Tiger Pleco – Stunning Orange & Black Wood-Grazing Pleco
The L397 Alenquer Tiger Pleco (Panaqolus sp.) is a beautiful and highly desirable freshwater catfish admired for its striking orange-and-black striped pattern, compact size, and fascinating wood-grazing behaviour.
Originating from the Brazilian Amazon region, this distinctive pleco features bold dark bands contrasting with warm orange to reddish-brown coloration, creating an eye-catching appearance in planted and natural-style aquariums.
Unlike many larger pleco species, the L397 remains relatively small, making it an excellent choice for appropriately sized freshwater aquariums.
As a member of the genus Panaqolus, this species is strongly associated with submerged wood and spends much of its time exploring driftwood, rocks, and sheltered areas.
Its unique appearance, interesting behaviour, and manageable adult size make the L397 Alenquer Tiger Pleco a wonderful addition to established aquariums for dedicated pleco enthusiasts.
