Ludwigia repens is a popular aquatic stem plant prized for its vibrant foliage, attractive coloration, and easy maintenance. Its oval-shaped leaves can develop beautiful shades of green, bronze, orange, and reddish-brown under suitable lighting and aquarium conditions, creating stunning contrast in planted aquariums. Its upright growth makes it an excellent choice for midground and background placement. Moderate to strong lighting encourages richer coloration, while supplemental CO₂ and balanced fertilization promote healthy, dense growth. Regular trimming encourages branching and creates fuller, bushier groups. Easy to propagate from stem cuttings, Ludwigia repens is an excellent choice for beginners and experienced aquascapers seeking colorful, natural-looking freshwater aquascapes.
